After a breaf flashback of the previous episode, the scene focus on a
strange necklace with a great red stone, it was a memory from Rin's
past, when her father left her without coming back but telling her that
obtaining the holy grail is the duty of the Tohsaka family and that she
will be allright on her own.
Well, it was a recurring dream and Rin finally wake up looking at the
Red Stone necklace and, remembering of what's happened in her attempt to
summon Saber, she sit on her bed saddened by the fact that after working
hard for ten years she couldn't summon the strongest class of servant.
However she resume the argument at breakfast, talking with Archer and
blaming herself about her apparently incompetence (and pleasing him
about the delicious tea he made, lol he's a man to marry!) but, when
Rin try to discover her servant true name and abilities Archer say that
it seems that his memories are in a state of confusion, so he cannot
please his master wishes by now and blaming Rin about her "incomplete
summon" but ending up saying that is not a grave disadvantage.
However Rin it's not of the same opinion because she think it's
difficult for her to formulte battle plans without knowing Archer true
potential but Archer state that she is a superior master and that there
will be no problem at all 'cause there's no way that she haven't
summoned the best Servant.
In the end the fact of Archer identity will be left for future task,
with the oblivious advantage that even the enemies wouldn't know who
Archer is, and the conversation ends up with Rin wndering if all the
seven Masters and Servants have gathered.
Meanwhile, back at Shirou's mansion, Sakura, Fujimura and Emiya are
having breakfast, also because Taiga's purse is empty she has come to
Emiya's place knowing that Sakura will prepare enough food for the three
of them even for the lunch, and getting scolded by Shirou!
By the way Emiya and Sakura set off to school and on the road Emiya
thanks Sakura also tolding her that she didn't have to care for him even
in the weekends, but Sakura answer that it's ok (clearly showing her
interest in Emiya-kun) and Shirou say to not to push herself too hard.
As they're passing the school gates Sakura noticed that Emiya's left
hand is bleeding and he wonder if he cut himself folling around with
just the night before, but he assure Sakura that is allright 'cause it's
not something to worry about.
The happy couple was interrupted by the arrival of Mitsuzuri, a girl who
is captain of the archery club to whom Emiya belonged, and she ask Emiya
if he could take care of Shinji Matou, brother of Sakura and friend of
Shirou, because he bullies the young member of the club apparently for
being rejected by Tohsaka Rin and "losing his pride".
Shirou accept this tedious task and, as he meet Shinji in the hallway,
he try to talk him but Shinji doesn't seem to care about his friend a
lot saying that he will be glad to leave the trivial chores of the
archery club to him if Shirou come around.
Well, lesson time, and the scene center on Rin that is sensing an enemy
near watching her and Archer but not willing to attack yet, she discuss
about that with her servant on the rooftop of the school deciding to
stand back and look until there's no ones around.
After school Emiya is stuck with his usual repairing activity and, as
he's leaving the schoolground, he meet again Shinji (this time
surrounded by girls) and accept to clean the archery club dojo while
Matou goes off.
Cleaning the dojo seems to bring back joyful memories to Emiya, at the
point that he lose the passing of time and the night fall without him
knowing.
Suddenly a fight break out in the school yard, as Rin and Archer
discover the identity of the enemy they were sensing, he's lancer and,
as he underestimate Archer capabilities for melee combat, he attack Rin'
Servant without esitation discovering that Archer is in truth a capable
swordsman.
But the rumor of the fight draw Emiya out and he see the furious battle
between the two Servants relating it to the various homicides that
lately took place in Fuyuki city.
Unfortunately, Lancer sees him and end the fight saying that killing any
witness to the Holy Grail War had the priority, with truly
disappointment from Rin, worried to not involve innocent people.
Emiya try to flee but against the capabilities of Lancer can do nothing
and ends up stabbed in the heart, as he lay on the ground diying Tohsaka
show up ordering Archer to go after Lancer and track his Master whereabouts.
When she recognize who the victim is Shirou, Rin seems to be
disheartened and, almost without hesitation, she decide to sacrifice the
precious Red Stone Necklace in order to revive Emiya, not accepting the
fact that it has to be him to die.
Before waking up Emiya got again a vision of the past time with his
father and, as he comes to his sense, he find himself covered in blood
and wondering about what he had seen but understanding that someone
saved him.
At Tohsala place Archer return empty handed and tell his master ot be
surprised that she used a very important jewel just to save a witness,
irritating Rin, but when Archer states that Lancer will prioritize the
elimination of a witness at any cost even RIn realize that saving Shirou
was useless beacuse the other Servant will go again after him when he
realize that Emiya is still alive.
In fact Lancer it's just arrived at Emiya's place, starting a fight with
him, Shirou try to defend himslef using his limitated magic capabilities
and, seeing that all his effort are meaningless, he try to hide himself
ending up in the warehouse, where a summoning circle is taking form.
Suddenly a brilliant light envelop the two of them, and on the back of
Emiya left hand appear a strange symbol, the light is so bright that
even Rin and Archer, whom they're flying toward Shirou's house, see it
recognizing it for what it is, the summoning of a Servant.
The Servant in question appear in the warehouse, pulling back Lancer and
then asking Emiya if he is her master but, stuck by the beauty and
elegance of the armor claded girl, Shirou couldn't say a thing and the
episode end with the questioning expression of the unknown Servant.
