episode 18

After a brief summary of the previous episode's last events, we see Caster wainting in Ryudouji temple courtyard, while the rain still falls from the sky, the Servant remebers of her previous past as Medea and pf the tragic events of her life up 'til her meeting with Soichirou. It was a rainy day and Caster was lying on the ground badly weakened from the loss of mana because she had just killed her previous Master and she now stares at an unknown flower wondering if it's the end for her, then Soichirou shows up and stares at her. Her wondering are interrupted by Soichirou that asks her what she's doing, and Caster replies that it was raining back then too resuming her remembering. At that time Soichirou bring Caster back to his house where he took care of her but, seeing that Caster seems uneasy, he tolds her that if she wants to forget what he have done for her she can just simply leave, but Caster tells him to wait and again the scene come back to the present, where Soichirou is walking through the courtyard and Caster tells him about an umbrella, but Spichirou replies if it really is necessary and Caster smiles at him saying no, she then join her Master under the rain. Meanwhile Shirou and the girls have reached Ryudouji temple, leaving Ilya at home in care of Taiga, Rin says that Sakura is ok because Caster wants to use her as a sacrficie so she would not harm the girls so easily, Saber asks her if Sakura really possess any capability as a Magician and Tohsaka replies that she still got a latent magic circuit in her because Sakura comes from a lineage of magician too. The trio then begins to ascend to Ryudouji temple but suddenly Rin stops because she remebered the day the Matou took her sister Sakura away from her, she then leaves the stair entering the woods and when Shirou asks about her sudden decisions she tells him to be quiet. In fact Rin had sensed the presence of an hidden temple and quickly reveals the entrance to her companions, as they enters Caster feel their presence and begins the ritual to summon the Holy Grail, putting Sakura totally under the dominion of her will. Shirou and the others reaches the hidden underground temple, wich resembles a sort of ancient city rebuilt under Ryudouji temple, and Rin explains that Caster used all the mana she has previously gathered to build it, as they speak a large amount of Skeleton Guards appears and the trio begins to advance toward the altar fighting them in the process. Looking at the battle from the center of the temple, Soichirou asks Caster about what he got to do, because he got no knowledge about the Holy Grail he will abide to Caster's plan, so Caster says that she got a proposal for him. The scene change to the fighting saviours as they proceed through the city annihilating all Caster's undead minions, as they finally reaches tha stair to the central level of the temple Assassin appears saying that he will not pull out something inelegant as a surprise attack. Kojiro permits Rin and Shirou to proceed, he mainly desires to fight Saber because he now got a limited amount of mana and he probably will not last until the morning, Saber agrees and the two begins to fight. meanwhile Shirou and Rin reaches the main part of the temple, where a magic circle was drawn with Sakura at the center, the girl seems to be in bad conditions but as Tohsaka starts to advance toward her, Soichirou appears and Shirou block his attack, creating again Kanshou and Bakuya, Soichirou greets him for blocking his surprise attack and Shirou tells Rin to hurry at Sakura's Side. The girl agrees and the two guys begins a fierce fight just as Saber and assassin are doing. The two Servant are putting all they got in the fight, Assassin is really pleased to fight against Saber because of her flawless swordmanship and even Saber is pleased by her opponent capabilities and says that it has been a long time since she has fought against someone who swings the sword so cleanly greeting Kojirou. But Assassin says that is fine to call him by his Servant name, because the person named Kojirou Sasaki never existed, he was only a character with a fabricated past made into a master swordsman by the people memories, so because he's only an unknown swordsman with no place to come back this battle is all he got, he then resumes his attacks and the exchange of blows between the two Servant is one of the best combat scenes in all the serie. Still Assassin says that he don't understand what desire Saber got to fight in the war and in remembering her reasons Saber offers an opening to Assassin, who is finally able to deal a blow to her although just a minor scratch but the response of Saber also leaves a small cut on Assassin's face. In the main temple, Rin finally reaches the border of the magic circle becoming aware of the unawareness of Sakura, she then walks toward her asking Caster to come out and Caster appears...behind her. The Servant welcomes Rin saying that her precious Sakura was waiting for her to come, Rin replies that she seems to know all about the two girls and Caster says that's because she got a chance to peek inside Sakura's head and she then says that Rin seems to misunderstanding about the fact that Caster got no intention to fight her. The Servant slowly walks towards Sakura, saying to Rin that if she wants to take the purple haired girl away she can feel free to do so, but she don't know if Sakura wants to go or not, she then whispers into Sakura's ear that the person she have always waiting for is there and Sakura react in a strange way because into her eyes seems to light up a creepy red glow. Sakura remembers of the time she was still with her sister in the Tohsaka mansion, she seems to have an attack of some sort and tendrils of darkness begins to spread out from her feet attacking Rin, the girl tries to avoid the attacks and cast a spell to disrupt the dark things but with no effect at all, Caster incites Rin to make it faster if she don’t want the Holy Grail to suck out all of Sakura’s mana. Even Shirou becomes aware of what’s happening behind him and he let down his defenses, Soichirou grab the occasion to strike him down and Shirou hides behind a column, asking his teacher why did he become a Master if he isn’t intereted in the Holy Grail. Soichirou agrees with the latest assumption saying that probably it’s because he’s like Shirou, both him and the guy doesn’t have any desire he then strikes at the column destroying it. But the time for Sakura is running out so Rin decides to act, saying that for a Magician the most important thing is not his own life but instead is the dignity of a soul, grasping some of her jewel she put up some sort of barrier destroying the black tendrils and then advances toward her sister remembering the day she let her go to the Matou family, while Rin runs toward Sakura a dagger appears in the imprisoned girl’s hand. Releasing the full power of her jewels Rin is able to destroy the barrier around Sakura and free her, there’s another cutscene of the past and we see Sakura taken by the Matou and a crying Rin who says to be sorry, then Rin holds the now free Sakura saying that she did hold back and that she guess she can’t say anything about Shirou. Even Sakura comes to her senses and Rin tells her something we couldn’t hear (probably “I’m sorry” I suppose) saying that her bad dreams are ended and that she could forget about anything has happened, she then kisses her sister’s forehead before passing out for the wounds caused by Sakura’s dagger. Observing the scene from the top Caster laughs, saying that she only needs ONE magician with a magic circuit from the sacrifice, and now both Sakura and Rin are inside the Magic Circle.
