episode 16

As the battle against Ilya goes on, Rin found herself trapped in Berseker's left hand as the Enemy Servant begins to squash her. Saber tries to hit Berseker, maybe to let him release the magician girl, but all her efforts are meaningless against the sheer strength if Ilya' Servant, futhermore Saber's attacks seems to irritate Berseker and the giant uses Tohsaka as a club to blow away Saber, who falls directly in front of Emiya. Ilya tells her Servant to hurry up and finish them and Berseker increases the pressure of his hand causing a great deal of pain to Rin, again Saber attacks the enemy and again her blows are useless. Shirou looks at the scene with frustation and finally decides to do something to help his comrades but as he step forward to join Saber in the fight Berseker hits him with his frozen arm causing Shirou to literally fly back and fall to the ground. However Shirou doesn't intends to give up and again push himself toward Berseker telling the Servant to let go of Rin while Saber tries to stop him, seeing her Master walking toward a certain death Saber readies her Noble Phantasm but Shirou uses one of his Reiju to prevent her doing so. With a look of disbelief Saber asks Shirou with he stopped her, saying that Excalibur is now their last chance to beat Berseker, Emiya stays silent thinking that she don't have enough power to use the sword now and suddenly he remembers the last words of Archer, that he cannot defeat his opponents in reality but that he got the power to imagine something that can let him defeat them in his imagination. Trying to apply the concept to the current situation Emiya bring forth the sword that he saw in his dreams about Saber's past, Caliburn, Berseker jump toward him but ith a single slash Emiya is able to cut the whole arm that was holding Rin, freeing the girl at last. Unfortunately the sword vanishes after the blow leaving Emiya a little stupefied because he was sure that a sword like that shouldn't have shattered, but he still tries to make a new one sure that the shattering was due to a flaw in his imaging. But Berseker is now angered by the loss of his arm and wildly attacks the boy, however Emiya continues his imaging while avoiding Berseker's blow, trying to care about every little detail that can bring forth a perfect Caliburn and finally succeeds, but a blow from Berseker force him again to the ground. Ilya taunt him about the fact that there's no way they can beat Berseker and even Shirou wonders that he was able to create a sword that could surpass Ilya's Servant but he's not able to use it and when Berseker attacks him again Saber parries his attack defending Shirou. She then grabs the sword's hilt together with his master and finally yhe two are able to break through the defenses of Berseker and deliver a deadly blow to the giant Servant, a blow that, as a calm Heracles says, is able to crush all the remaining seven lives although the sword is just an illusion made by a man, it is also an illusion that cannot be disregarded. The poor Berseker vanishes leaving a stupefied Ilya unable to come up with the fact that she had lost, Saber would be more than glad to end her suffering but Shirou stops her saying that now that her Servant is gone Ilya is not a danger. After a brief cutscene with some images from Saber's past, Shirou awakes in his room and Saber is by his side awaitin for him to wake up. With a grim look she asks Shirou how does he feels and Emiya asks her what's the matter, the girl replies that she just saw a dream but suddenly something begins to move UNDER Emiya's cover, guess what? yeah it's Ilya and she's in bed with Shirou (don't worry is fully clothed! XD), the girl complains about the noise caused by the conversation while she's still asleep, and Emiya is started by her presence there. Servant and Master begins to prepare the breakfast and again Shirou became aware of some sort of tension from Saber, then Rin come to the kitchen still in night clothes and asks Shirou for some milk lamenting about an headache, Emiya simply greet her good morning and the girl asks him about what he's cooking (hamburger steak it seems). Saber says that Rin seems lazy today and Tohsaka replies that she's lazy because Berseker is gone and the remaining Servants could easily be defeated, Saber replies that there's nothing certain in combat but again Rin says that for the great King Arthur all the remaining heroes can be dealt with ease. Hearing that Tohsaka knows Saber ture identity Emiya gave a little start and asks her how did she knows and the girl replies that she only confirmed the previous day when she saw Caliburn. Well, at breakfast Rin asks Shirou what re his plans for "the spoiled kid sleeping in the other room" and Saber precises that is Shirou's Room, also she says that there's something worng in him protecting Ilya but Emiya says that she cannot leace her alone because after all she's still a kid. Rin disagrees about that, mainly because of all the trouble the little girl has caused to them, but Emiya says that Ilya needs someone to tell her what's right and what's wrong so that she will not do again things like what she did and besides Shirou is not fighting the war to kill other Masters, Rin says that practically he's going to forgive her but that she will not do that, especially after what Ilya did to Archer. Suddenly Ilya enters the room asking what's wrong in that, because in the end Servants will all disappear and accusing Rin to be a failure as a Master for having toughts like that (and causing Rin to jump up!). Ilya then proceeds to show her gratitude to Emiya for taking care of her and she then sits greeting for all the delicious foods on the table, in fact she greets Emiya with a hug and Saber tells her to back off from him, also accusing her of insolence, Ilya says that is unpleasant from Saber to say such a thing while dining and that she got bad manners. Saber asks Shirou if he understand that providing shelter to Ilya will mean only troubles, but Emiya still protect the little girl saying that she's not dangerous because is not a Master anymore and Rin precises that even if she has lost her Servant, Ilya is still a Master as long she got her Reiju and the same goes for the Servants. But suddenly Ilya says that she will not partner with any other Servant, because her only Servant will always be Berseker and we caught a glimpse of their first meeting, to relieve the tension she also says that only if Shirou loses she'll take Saber but Saber replies that she will bever become her Servant. The breakfast ends with a little more arguing and the decision to shelter Ilya, although Saber still disagrees. Saber's bad mood is reflected also in the morning training, to the point that Ilya wonders if it really is just training saying that Saber is just going easy on Emiya, and also Shirou says that she seems more restrained than usual, in the end it seems that Saber is worried by the fact that their bodies would collide although Emiya isn't able to realize the true meaning of that, so they quit training. XD Shirou, Saber and Ilya got lunch and suddenly Saber cleans Ilya's face causing a little deal of surprise, Saber explains that she got no hostility towards Ilya and because she's a guest of Shirou, Saber feels that she got to display a little courtesy. The night falls and again there's an embarassed scene between Shirou and Saber, when the guy open the bathroom's door and find his Servant bathing. He then goes to Rin for a "magical check up" and Tohsaka is amazed by the fact that there's nothing worng in him, even after performing the great acts of sorcery he did, the two ends up chatting about the tracing sorcery and tha sword he was able to bring forth, they also talk about Excalibur Scabbard, able to heal the wounds of its bearer and one of the major causes of King Arthur invincibility, Tohsaka also warns Shirou from imaging again Saber's sword because it could be something beyond his capability. Still Emiya seems to be fixed about that sword and when alone he begins to try again to summon Caliburn but he's interrupted by Saber, Emiya says that he's doing some mental training because he couldn't sleep and Saber asks him if he do that every day, the guy replies affermatively and then asks about the dream Saber saw in the morning. Saber tells him that she saw both his dream and his past and ask for forgiveness but Emiya says that it's ok but also asks what was that dream and Saber replies that was a conflagration, she also says that he rsembles her and that she wants to prevents him from doing the same mistakes she made, because they are similar. Shirou tells her that he will become a protector of justice like his father but Saber warns him about the fact that in the end his emotions plays a little role in that and that his self-sacrifice is enormous, she then leaves stating that Shirou also needs the Holy Grail and leaving the guy dazzled. The episodes ends with a brief scene with Caster saying that now that Berseker is gone the only enemies are Lancer and Saber so there's nothing to be worried about, and because the mana they have stolen will soon reach the limit they need a Magician as a vessel for the Holy Grail appearance, all they need is someone from a line of magician and the chosen one is...Sakura!
