episode 13

After beating Rider, Saber collapsed to the ground due to the extensive use of her mana and in the opening we saw a memories of her past, where she stands on a hilltop surrounded by what it seems to be a large army waiting for her. Meanwhile Shirou looks worried by her condition as he stands in a dark room with a toughtful expression on his face, suddeny the light turns on and Rin enters the room, Shirou asks her how's Saber doing and the girl replies that she didn't think the Servant will wake up soon. Either way Emiya says her that is glad that she's there but the girl tells him that she didn't do anything and that Saber's body will not get any better asking the guy for an explanation. So Shirou tells her what's happened before, tha battle with Rider and the fact that Saber used her Noble Phantasm to defeat their opponent, Rin spare him for asking what it was but she then says that at this rate Saber will disappear. Emiya is shocked by what Rin says but the girl goes on, telling him that now Saber got a little mana left in her, while she don't know what type of noble phantasm used, Tohsaka know that is something that used up so much of Saber's mana and because mana is the source of a Servant's physical body Emiya's Servant now got just enough mana to mantain her material form, with the risk of disappearing once it's totally used. However Rin also says that she thinks that Saber could recover enough mana to mantain her body, but the fact is that without a Master able to transfer her new mana it is unavoidable that the next time she use her Noble Phantasm she will disappear. Emiya asks her if all he got to do was not let Saber use her noble Phantasm but Tohsaka states that there's no chance for a Servant to win the Holy Grail War without using it and that there are only two ways for an injured Servant to recover, the first is to be replenished of mana from her Master and the second, and the one more unaccceptable, is to steal the mana of innocents people and clearly Emiya will not do that (beside he got to use one of his Reiju to force Saber in stealing the life force of others). So Rin asks him if he's able to provide mana to his Servant but the guy answers that he would already have done if he was able to, Rin wonders about the fact that when he summoned Saber some sort of connection should have been established between the two so there might be some other way but she suddenly stops trying to confort Emiya stating that there's only one solution left for him, using one of his reiju to force Saber to attack humans. Emiya refuses and he then go to Saber's side, remembering Rin's words while he lokk her sleep and wondering if he really got to force his Servant to do that awful thing. He suddenly fall asleep and while dreaming he see a scene from Saber's past, the young girl approach a sword perced in a block of stone and when she starts to grab the hilt an old man (probably Merlinus i suppose) says that the one who pulls the sword out of the stone will be the king of all the britain, calling her Arturia and inviting her to think carefully before doing that. Saber says that she's come forth with the desire to pull the sword out of the stone and finally succeeds in doing that. We then see her on the hilltop of the opening with the large army inciting her as the unbeatable god of war because she always stays on the frontline without being injured (for further information about this topic i suggest you to take a look on any good book about the Arthurian cycle). However Emiya realizes that the sword he now see is different from the one wielded by Saber the last night and he wonders about the current whereabouts of that sword while he sees it standing in a forest glade. (however as Rileth reminded me, the sword Arthur pulled out of the stone is Caliburn and he then lost it and replaced with Excalibru, the sword of the lady of the lake). Emiya finally wake up and it's morning, he curses himself for having fall asleep and wonders about the fact he was able to see the scene from Saber's memory and the fact that after seeing Caliburn, his body is hot for some reasons. After taking a little care of Saber he go out in the mansion outer yard, where Archer is doing a little practice with the bow seeing him Rin's Servant asks him what does he want, stating that he will not help him with any archery questions, the two argues for a little and Archer tases him as always. So Emiya left the mansion and he finally stops at the playground where he encoutered Ilya previously, and it's so deep in though to not take notice of the arrival of Berseker's Master. Ilya greets him and asks what's wrong, when the guy told her that he got no time to talk to her Ilya reveals him that she already know what's happening because she too was at the place where Emiya fought Rider and Shinji, she also says that losers got to be killed. Emiya is a little shocked in hearing that but the more shock come when he realizes that he's not able to move anymore, taking advantage of his carelessness Ilya have used a magic trick to be able to kidnap him and now Emiya is at her disposal. Again Shirou dreams of the golden sword he saw in Saber's dream and when he wake up he finds himself in what it seems a little girl room, Ilya's room effectively, seeing that is already evening Emiya try to free himself because he's now bound to a chair but Ilya enters the room and begins to speak. When Shirou treat her harshly she reminds him that captives are usually put in a cellar and that she's doing him a favor in letting the guy be imprisoned in her room, she then says that she wants him to become her servant so she then let him live and Emiya looks again dazzled. Meanwhile Saber wake up and try to search Emiya, knowing that he's in danger she tells Rin and Archer that Shirou is held captive somewhere and the trio set off in search of him guided by a weakened Saber, but not without Archer arguing about his Master decision! XD In Von Einzbern's castle Emiya still refuses to become Ilya's pet so the young girl tells him that she will kill all of his companions to finally be able to break his will, Emiya curses him saying that there's no reasons she got to kill Tohsaka and Saber but the girl replies that she can't let other Masters live, beside it's the Holy Grail War that we're involved into. Emiya tells her to not speak of killing others so easily but Ilya reveals him that she already killed another master the day before, and that master was Shinji although it was kind unexpected because she tought onii-chan (and she's again referring to Shirou as a sort brother) would have took care of him. She then leaves telling Shirou to try escaping as much as he can, Emiya try to hold her but the girl simply walks out of the room shutting the door behind her so the guy tryes to use sorcery to escape and he's amazed when he discovers that he now can activate his mana flow easily thanks to Tohsaka's treatment, however his tryes are useless and the overflow of mana make him spit out some blood. Meanwhile Rin, Archer and Saber are walking toward the forest to reach Ilya's castle and the episode ends with a sight of the build itself.
